I got more photos from my Prince of Persia (2008) shoot I did last year! (If you want to see the other pictures they can be found here) Photography by harvestbuddy. I couldn't decide which angle I liked so I asked HB to edit all of them for me lol. That's it! The next cosplay shoot I'll be doing is likely Yato from Noragami :)

On Tuesday, I did a shoot for my Prince(ss) of Persia (2008) cosplay at Vasquez Rocks, California. HB was the photographer as usual and his friend Ben came along as an assistant. What was great was that Ben had a lot of interesting suggestions for photo ideas (He was actually better than me at posing lol. HB and I both suggested that he should get into cosplay). Here are a few of the pictures from the trip: I broke my sword while doing this pose. My shoes had no traction on the bottom so I kept sliding off the side of the wall. The sword eventually ended up snapping against the rocks. Since it was windy at the top, I was able to get some nice movement with the scarf.
I would definitely count the shoot as a success. A big thanks to HB and Ben for their hard work. (Oh and this time I made sure to put the scar on the correct side!) I attended AX on days 0-4 and roomed with four other people (dokitude and her husband, harvestbuddy and his brother). Dokitude was Tifa from FFVII, HB was Heide Knight from Dark Souls II, and I was the prince from Prince of Persia (2008). I had planned on cosplaying two days, but HB and I ended up dressing up only on Friday. I visited the NIS booth and pre-ordered Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance (I think I might cosplay the main character Kilia in the future ' v '). They were also holding a scavenger hunt so I decided to participate. Here's a picture of the promotional display they had set up: Disgaea art is always so pretty //huff Here are the goods I received from the pre-order and scavenger hunt. Here's some of the other merch I got at con! I visited the Crusaders Quest booth and got a t-shirt and in-game rewards cards. I've been addicted to the game for awhile so it was really nice to see them at the con. I have to say... Crusaders Quest's pixel art is super adorable ; A ; . I wouldn't mind cosplaying Giparang in the future too. AX definitely sparked/resparked some cosplay ideas. When I was in artist alley, I picked up Haikyuu!! stickers from melly and spicybara's table. I also commissioned a picture of my OC from jialingpan. She finished so quickly though?! I was thrilled when I saw the completed piece and I'm planning on framing it in my room haha. Besides those two items, the rest of my purchases were from the exhibit hall. I played Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime a long time ago so I wanted to get the glass cup featuring the slimes. The cup also came with a coaster that makes sounds when you set something down on it (I haven't put batteries in yet so idk what it sounds like). Lastly, I bought two cat dolls and a bunch of small charms of Link from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. While I was in the exhibit hall, I also visited one of the otome game booths. I took a picture at their backdrop and downloaded one of their games on my phone. The art for Blood in Roses+ caught my eye so of course I had to try it out. All in all, con was pretty fun. Here are pictures of my cosplay. I plan to do a shoot in a desert or canyon so I'll have more photos up later. But omfg I put the scar on the wrong side of my face. So ashamed. I'll have to make sure to get it right when I'm doing the shoot orz.
The next project I decided to tackle was Prince of Persia (2008). I played this game a few years ago but I decided to replay it recently. I want to eventually cosplay Elika too, but for now I'm going to be the Prince (well, I'm doing a genderbend.. so princess?). I'll be wearing this to AX 2015 on Friday and Saturday! Progress The coat was made of two different fabrics in order to give it more texture, and the dragon on the back was made from gold puff paint. The belt and leg wraps were made of leather. The pants and scarf were made of linen and then dyed. The scarf was also sewed onto an elastic headband in order to assure that it would keep its shape. For the gauntlet, rather than using worbla and foam, I decided to make it out of leather. For color, the leather was dyed black and then dry brushed with silver acrylic paint. The shoes were originally from forever 21 and were dyed brown and modified with leather cut-outs. Lastly, the sword was made by harvestbuddy using komatex and worbla. I will post some pictures of myself in costume after AX is over.

AboutHi I'm RQ and this is where I blog about my cosplay and daily life.
*I'm taking a break from cosplay.
Looking back at what I wrote in my posts make me cringe, but I'll leave this blog up in case people still want to use my cosplay progress/WIPs as a resource for their own projects. Categories
